On Fire: Part 1: Only Count What Counts

CHAOS Tuesday 46: Air Force LT. Col, Dan Ward is our special guest for the On Fire series. This program series focuses on issues brought forth in his new book “FIRE: Fast, Inexpensive, Restrained, and Elegant. This show called “On Fire: Only Count What Counts” presents an overview of Dan and his book.  A highlight  is on only counting what counts.

In addition to Dan, we will have Lee Gesmer with a new segment called CHAOS on the Law, Hans Mulder will join us for another new segment called CHAOS on the Frontline and Mack Bregman comments on our new Stat-bit segment. This segment features the definition of success. In this program we explore:

Dan Ward

Dan Ward is a military technologist specializing in rapid, thrifty innovation. He is also the author of FIRE: Fast, Inexpensive, Restrained, and Elegant.


Mark Bregman

Mark Bregman is the CTO for Neustar. Mark has worked in the Tech industry for 20 years. He has managed technology research, semicondutor R&D and manufacturing, Unix systems development, manufacturing, marketing and sales, and various software businesses.


Lee Gesmer

Lee Gesmer is a founding partner of the Boston law firm Gesmer Updegrove LLP. The firm, which employees 50 lawyers and support staff, was formed in 1986. Since then it has become one of New England’s leading technology law firms, representing hundreds of institutions ranging from large organizations, such as Harvard University, The Linux Foundation and ThermoFisher Scientific, to hundreds of small and mid-sized emerging companies.


Hans Mulder Hans Mulder MSc BA is Standish European research director and professor at the Antwerp Management School. As the founder of his own company, Venture Informatisering Adviesgroep, he is on the management and executive boards of various IT companies. He is regularly engaged as an IT expert when conflicts between companies need to be resolved in or out of court.



Jim Johnson

Jim Johnson is the founder and chairman of The Standish Group.
