Rise of the CTO
CHAOS Tuesday: #28: is on the rise of the CTO. We see the CTO role as a creative visionary who delivers technology products to the marketplace and makes business decisions about how technology is incorporated in the company. Often the CTO is both offensive and defensive. Offensive in the sense that he or she looks for opportunities to advance the organization offering and capabilities. Defensive is to know if a new technology might overcome the organization’s offerings or capabilities. In this show the CHAOS Team and our special guest, W. Jeffrey Rice, marketing executive, discuss the rise of the CTO. In this program we explore:
- The current role of the CTO
- How the role of CTO evolved
- Preparing for the CTO Role
- CTO & CMO Convergence
- CTO & CMO Bonding
Part of CHAOS Tuesday: looks at resources that a CTO can use to improve their influence.
